Can I get an annulment instead of a divorce?
Annulments are available under very limited circumstances. An annulment MAY be available if at the time of the marriage a person is underage, under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, permanently impotent, lacks the mental capacity to consent to the marriage or understand the nature of the marriage ceremony because of a mental disease or defect, or if your spouse used fraud, duress or force to induce you to enter into the marriage.
